Newmarket 1st XI vs. Wilburton at Wilburton
Newmarket wont he toss and elected to field. Wilburton started quickly scoring moving the score into the 20's by the fourth over however the Newmarket opening bowlers soon found their lines with Sam Rodman bowling very economically from one end, with Ollie Rix picking up three wickets from the other. Wilburton then tried to re-group however scoring was again restricted and Newmarket managed further breakthroughs later on with Mark Muir picking up two wickets and Asgar Ozhakkal taking three. Wilburton's innings finished in the last over being bowled out for 106.
Newmarket's repsonse started quickly with Asgar Ozhakkal (11) and Ollie Rix (22) getting the innings going. Both fell within a good two over period for Wilburton however they were well backed up by Mark Muir (19 not out) and the hard hitting Sam Rodman (45 not out) who steered the visiting team to the target after 18 overs.
Newmarket won the match by 8 wickets.
Newmarket's man of the match was Sam Rodman for his economical bowling (10 overs, 2 maidens, 1 wicket for 20 runs) and innings of 45 not out.
